Dr. Kisner earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. Prior to earning her doctorate she obtained a Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Washington University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and her postdoctoral fellowship at The Center for Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She completed intensive training in DBT by Behavioral Tech, LLC. Following fellowship, Dr. Kisner worked as a senior staff psychologist at CCDBT conducting intake evaluations, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and DBT skills training groups. Dr. Kisner was instrumental in the development of CCDBT Manhattan and served as the Director of the Manhattan office for three years before starting her own practice.
She is a member of American Psychological Association (APA), Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), International Society for the Improvement and Teaching of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (ISITDBT), and New York City Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association (NYC-CBT).
